Dada Final

1. Cut/Copy/Rearrange (B&W)

2. Color Blocks

3. Text (B&W)

4. Halftone Screen

I like most of the results of my final photos, but I had a difficult time coming up with new ideas and doing it without direction. I liked the freedom, but I think they would have come out better if I had more direction on them.

With this assignment, we used the same techniques that they did and ended up with very abstract results.

MoMA and Dada

1.
-It was a way to express their disgust and view of the war.
-They wanted to create new forms and visions of the world through visual art, performance, and poetry.
2.
-Readymades mass-produced, commercially available, and utilitarian objects presented as art.
-It changes your expectations because you realize that really anything is and can be considered a piece of art.
3.
-Chance, accident, and improvisation.
-To critique the systems that shaped society.

4.
- The value of art made by dadaists "lay not in the work produced, but in the act of making and collaborating with others to create new visions of the world".
5.
-They unleashed an arsenal of puns, wordplay, and experimental poetry and literature to expose the arbitrary relationship between words and their meanings.

Questions About Art

.     A piece created by a person from their imagination and creativity or an object that represents an idea. Every piece of artwork has a personal touch to it. No piece of artwork is the same.
2.     An artwork should provide for the viewer something to think about and should provide a way to express what they’re imagining or the idea they’re presenting.
3.     People make art as a way to express themselves and the ideas they create.
4.     Anywhere and everywhere.

5.     The role of the artist is to provide people with art pieces to look and think about.
